Project VITAL

Project VITAL is created to support the mental well being of the healthcare professionals (clinical and non-clinical) of  Emory Johns Creek Hospital (EJCH).  This Project affords a representative group of professionals from across EJCH, including doctors, nurses, emergency department, dietary, materials management, pharmacy, and various other departments to tell their 1st-person stories of their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.  These stories will relay their patient experiences during this amazing time as well as the personal sacrifices they and their families had to endure.  Their stories will be recorded in live interviews  by a career healthcare professional.  The living library that will retain their stories will be available online for viewing by their peers and the public at-large.  As such, this living library will be a permanent testament to the strength and courage these professional exhibited on behalf of the public at-large, non-stop, for over two years.

In addition to the Living Library of 1st-person stories, each of the more than 1,200 individuals who work in EJCH will be provided a handwritten Thank You Note.  These notes will be a tangible expression of the gratitude of people from across the Johns Creek community.  The Thank You Notes will be written by members of the Rotary Club of JCNF, the Rotary Club of Johns Creek (District 6910), local Interact Clubs, Rotary Youth Exchange students, and Student Leadership Johns Creek.

A further tangible expression of the gratitude of the people of Johns Creek will be a set of Thank You Baskets that will be provided to 15-20 departments throughout the hospital.  These baskets will have a variety of items that the individuals in these departments can use individually, and keep as reminders of a grateful community.
