West GA Technical College GED Program

Our club will provide 25 GED scholarships for individuals looking to further their education or increase their ability to become employed. We will be purchasing these from West Georgia Technical College who already has programs in place that prepare individuals for the GED test but may not have the resources to pay for it.

This will be the third year we are partnering with West Georgia Technical College and helping the lives of many individuals who have not yet received their GED or High School Diploma. Last year we helped 25 people earn their GED, making a lasting difference in their lives. The plan is to increase the number of GEDs given this year because of the increased need in our community and the immediate economic impact created by putting people on the right track to bettering their lives. Many prior recipients have continued to college and extended their education above the GED and without this program, they would not have been given that opportunity.

Carrollton Dawnbreakers used this the last 2 years for our District grant but decided to add it to our budget as a continuous item. We spend a total of $4,000 on this every year.
