This was (is) a great program! Johnnie Andrews agreed to head it up. He contacted the DOT and did the paperwork that was required. We agreed to clean the road a minimum of 4 times a year in order to qualify to have a marker showing that Johns Creek North Fulton Rotary had adopted the road. It was a painless project, no prep work, we showed up when Johnnie scheduled the event at 8:00a.m and we were done by 10 on a Saturday morning. We had vest that showed who we were. We invited the Chattahoochee & Johns Creek Interact club join us. We split up the road had a Rotarian with the students. It gave us the opportunity to share programs that Rotary was involved in (GRSP, RYE, etal). The students had all kinds of creative ideas on what to do to eliminate the trash (biodegradable cigarette butts, cups, bottles). It allowed anyone that had the time slot free show up and do some service work without impedeing on a full day.
